It’s official :-)

I know I just posted but I had to tell you all that the swearing-in ceremony was great!  The US Ambassador (and his security men talking into their sleeves) was there and guess what?  Every time a group swears in, they choose one of the trainees to speak on behalf of the new group, and they chose ME!  I was so honored and not to mention a nervous wreck!  I had to deliver a speech, IN SPANISH, to a full house including the Ambassador and I did it! And it was good!  I was shaking in my shoes, but only the front row seemed to notice the paper rattling in my hands.  I’m including the speech for those who understand Spanish and for everyone else, just know that it was good, and I’m happy it’s over.  Well, we’re headed out to our sites this Saturday.  Wish us luck!

Bien hecho!!!! I really liked the part about the “Cuerpo de Paz”. The funny thing is that the speech was in Spanish but it sounded just like you–it had a “Trenita flair” to it–that’s great. I’m so proud of you guys!!!!!

I loved the pictures! You and D have some NICE TANS and man would I love to be on that beach RIGHT NOW!! I showed my class the pictures and the Dominican kids were really excited!! The question that we all had for them was “If you live in a place that beautiful, what in the world are you doing in Durham???” lol

I’m so proud of you. I could follow some of what you said and it seemed inspired and also eloquent given that you were translating. I am going to have to call you and get the moment by moment story! Missed you during Halloween, I had purple hair as a punk rocker and will put photos on facebook, in addition to my other costume, wonder woman!
    hugs to you and D!

    Hey, my FEPA friend,

Today was ‘the’ big day and I channeled you during the selection process. Since this is a public forum, I can’t tell you who ‘we’ chose, so hope that you’ll email me some day and tell me a good time that I may write you back to ‘chat’ about what you’d have me add to my remarks. Confused???? I am!!!! Or, if Facebook would be better and you monitor it, that would be grand, too! Anyway, though I can’t tell you who, I’ll give you one major clue: This gal/guy WILL not leave for another brave, new world and so will be speaking him/herself in February! HA!

So, so proud of you, my friend! Hope to hear from you soon,
    patti

Woah… It’s official :-) | Books and Babies! I’m just really enjoying this design-theme for the website. It’s simple, yet effective. Very often it can be hard to obtain that “perfect balance” concerning user friendliness along with appearance. I actually should mention you have carried out an great job with this. Additionally, this blog site loads extremely quick for me on Safari. Superb Website It’s official :-) | Books and Babies! Incidentally have you read Gaddafi eye-popping news flash… Kudos Flash Website Builder
